The Fountain House in Mountrath has to be the best night spot in Mounbtrath for live music and great craic, the bar staff are so friendly andf the beer aint to bad either! We always go there on a night out. | |

Well done to the Harps Camogie team on their great successes. They won the County Final, the Leinster Final and the All-Ireland Club semi-final. They will now play in the All-Ireland Club Final in O'Moore Park on Sunday 19th Nov. So I hope ye will all come out and support them. Is this a first for the Harps Club? It is a first for Laois camogie. Disappointed not see them getting the credit on the sport section of this site. And where are all the Harps flags? Are they all tucked away until next year? Is Bobs Bar, Tommy's and Sean Conroy the only ones in town that knows of the success of their local camogie team? Come on all ye business' and inhabitants of the town and village get them flags flying and show the girls your support. | |

Hello, I am searching for the lady who a couple of years ago told Jack Bowe from Ballacolla that she was related to him through his uncle, the late Bill Bowe. She was a waitress in the restaurant of the Castle Arms Hotel at that time. Unfortunately she was too busy serving the customers to say any more then. This lady told Jack she was from the O'Dea family. My wife's mother Molly Bowe (nee O'Dea), died when my wife Kathleen was born in 1939. We were in Durrow in September, but were unaware of this connection then. If anyone can help me contact this lady I shall be most grateful. | |

I love Ireland. My husband is a native of Dublin, has been living in the USA for over 30 years. We spent several days in Durrow last year, and he has been through this year.
